Cyclone Warning & Preparedness: Yangon on alert as Bay of Bengal Cyclone grows
Updated: Jun 23, 2020
Dear Residents
According to the observations at (06:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over the South Andaman Sea and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal still persists. It may further intensify into a depression during next (60) hours and it is likely to move North-Northwest wards gradually.
According to Myanmar Times, the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement cautioned low pressure area could develop into a depression within next couple of days, heading towards Yangon, Ayeyarwady, and Rakhine, bringing heavy rain, tidal waves, flooding, and soil erosions. The Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement has put up two numbers to call if the public needs information or assistance. The hotline numbers are 067-3404666 and 067-3404777.
The Estate urged our Residents to take the following measures to prepare for the bad weather;
Make sure one’s house is prepared to endure strong wind and heavy rain; and
Make sure emergency items such as food, water, important documents, and COVID-19 protective equipment are ready.
Should you require any assistance we have our contact line at 1461 (from landlines within the Estate) or 09 955400911.
Best Regards
